A Moreton man threatened a woman with a knife while she held a baby, leading to a police standoff and arrest.

A man was at a window, threatening a woman with a knife while she held a baby. Cops couldn’t enter the house at first. Negotiators then spoke with the man.
The woman and baby were able to leave the house safely and were taken to the hospital to be checked as a precaution. Neighbors reported seeing many police cars and ambulances at the scene.
The man locked himself inside and menaced police and dogs, throwing things as well. When he exited briefly, police used a baton, but he went back inside.
Police convinced him to leave later at 12:49 PM. He had cuts on his arm and they took him to the hospital for treatment. A 37-year-old got arrested for affray, assault, threats, and damage.
Police are still investigating the area and have made a referral to the IOPC. They cannot say anything further for now. Neighbors were shocked by the event, and one resident said she was told to stay inside when police arrived. Another neighbor saw about 13 police cars.
