A man got attacked on Wavertree Road. This incident also hurt two other people. The landlord shared some details about it.

The landlord said the man stayed there with his partner and that they planned to visit a wedding venue. Police went to Wavertree Road around 7 AM after someone reported a stabbing inside a building. Police confirmed the man is still in the hospital.

The landlord spoke to the ECHO news source. He said the man booked the place online; that he and his partner came to see a wedding venue. The landlord said the man is doing okay, but that he isn’t sure what happened.

He doesn’t think the man did anything wrong. The victim is 62 years old and stayed in the flats for about four nights. A neighbor saw a man covered in blood leaving the flats above a store.

Debbie Smith saw police arrive. Her daughter was visiting at the time. Debbie said a bloody man left the building and that blood covered him, even down to his feet. She saw police arrive that morning and go straight to the flats.

Two others got hurt too. A man and a woman, both in their 30s, got minor injuries. Gerry Anketell, 37, faces charges with no permanent address. He is charged with attempted murder and assault.

Gerry appeared in court on Tuesday, February 18. He will stay in custody and will appear in court again on March 18.
