A man was choked unconscious in a Loughborough pub. The attacker, Calan Sedgwick, faces potential jail time.

The victim was with his pals and partner. Calan Sedgwick, who’s 28, did the choking. He held the guy until he lost consciousness. CCTV caught the whole thing.
The prosecutor said it happened at Leicester Magistrates’ Court. The victim got choked until he fainted and fell. He also had bruised ribs. Kicking might have happened too.
Friends and his partner stopped the attacker. Bouncers stepped in as well after that. Sedgwick was acting aggressive toward them.
He reported it late because of searching. He found Sedgwick on Facebook and checked CCTV. Sedgwick is from Nottingham and has no prior convictions. He did get a warning for assault back in 2012.
Sedgwick’s lawyer asked for a report from probation. He said it was out of character. The lawyer added he feels genuinely sorry. He also stated Sedgwick is about to be a dad.
The magistrates agreed to the report. But, a prison sentence remains possible. The starting point is 18 months. The court will meet again later this month. All options are still on the table.
