A woman heard a commotion and went outside. She saw a man hurt and yelled for someone to call for help.

Police went to Granby Street and Eversley Street in Toxteth around 9 PM yesterday, following reports of a large fight. A young man had been stabbed in the chest, and another man was slashed in the face.

The injured men went to a hospital where they are both now in stable condition.

Police are investigating the Toxteth incident, talking to witnesses and checking CCTV footage. They are also gathering forensic evidence from the area, and roads were closed to help the investigation.

Forensic officers worked on Eversley Street, placing about ten evidence markers on the road.

A woman saw around 50 young men fighting on her street as she was getting ready to eat dinner. The injured man told her he was stabbed. She said one group fought another, but she did not see a knife, adding that the younger people seemed to cause trouble.

Some neighbors didn’t know a fight occurred, as people celebrated Ramadan nearby, and many didn’t notice anything.

Detective Inspector Steve Street spoke about the case, stating that they examine leads and view camera footage. He said police need help to determine all that happened.

Police ask people with information to contact them, especially if they have dashcam or doorbell footage. They also want people to avoid guessing on social media.

Police will have a larger presence in Toxteth, and people who have concerns can talk to officers. They can be contacted via DM or phone, and reports may also be made anonymously.
