A man from Liverpool suffered serious injuries after his motorcycle was in a collision. Cheshire Police received a call about the incident around 5 PM on Thursday, February 27. The crash occurred on Speke Road’s westbound side, between Ditton Road and Hale Road in Widnes.

Police and paramedics arrived quickly at the location. They found a crash involving a HGV, a silver Renault Megane, and a red and white motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from Liverpool, sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Aintree Hospital, where he remains at this time. Police have reported that no other injuries occurred.

Speke Road closed westbound from the Mersey Gateway bridge to Everite Road due to the wreck. Pictures show long lines of traffic today, reaching back to the Mersey Gateway Bridge and the Silver Jubilee Bridge.

Traffic is being diverted along Ditton Road because the A562 Speke Road is closed westbound. Police are working to fix the road after the crash. Inrix reports the road closed around 6 PM due to accident investigation work.
