Scaffolder Trevor Morris in court after an Aldi car park attack left a man on a ventilator with serious head injuries.

The victim suffered serious injuries, it seems. He had head bleeding and swelling, and they took him to the hospital. He needed a ventilator to breathe.
Morris, age 45, appeared in court this week, where they charged him. The charges include attempted grievous bodily harm. He also faces a weapon charge, with the weapon identified as a knuckleduster. Morris lives on Gishford Way in Blakelaw.
The court didn’t take any pleas because the first charge was too serious. Morris only confirmed basic details, speaking his name, birth date, plus address. Holly Clegg is the prosecutor, and she said the attack occurred by an Aldi branch.
Clegg explained the victim’s injuries, stating face bleeding and swelling occurred. He needed hospital care and ventilation. Clegg confirmed he still needed the ventilator.
Clegg said a higher court must hear the case and requested the court send it to Newcastle Crown Court. The court sent Morris to jail, and he will appear in court again on March 27 at Newcastle Crown Court.
