Russell Daniels, 37, was jailed for supplying cannabis in a “work from home” operation from 2020 to 2023.

Police searched Daniels’ home for another reason. They found two mobile phones. These phones had many messages about drug dealing. People asked for cannabis in different amounts.
Detectives studied the phone evidence. It showed Daniels knew the cannabis source well. The prosecutor said Daniels had a “controlling role,” selling large amounts to street dealers. Daniels had 13 convictions for 20 past offenses, some involving cannabis.
The prosecutor said Daniels helped someone else set up a cannabis factory. He installed lights and watering for 24 plants, doing this in exchange for cannabis.
Daniels’ lawyer said he was “not a major player” and stated the crimes stopped two years ago. Daniels started using cannabis at age 14 and quit his job to be a full-time dad.
The judge stated it was a business, calling it an “empire” because of Daniels’ contacts. The judge said Daniels sold drugs from home, not thinking about his family. The judge sentenced Daniels to two years and eight months in jail.
