Christopher Harlington gets prison for attack saying he would break victim’s neck. He assaulted the victim after an argument in Hull.

Christopher Harlington was angry and threatening. He said he would break the man’s neck. The victim hit his head hard on the railings. This happened at Hull Crown Court. Harlington, 46, admitted hurting the man and suffocation. The crimes happened September 21, 2023. He failed to show up for an earlier court date too.
The attack victim was in a garden at Nelson Court, in Hull. Harlington entered through a door there. Harlington had caused issues before. The man told him to leave.
Harlington got angry and grabbed the man’s jumper. He threw him toward the railings. The man fell and hit his head. Harlington knelt on his neck. He pressed harder for minutes.
The man yelled to be released. Harlington repeated his threat. The victim cried for help. A woman called the police. The man had a head wound and bled much.
Police found Harlington in a building. He did not open the door. They had to force entry. Police arrested Harlington. The victim’s blood was on his clothes. He did not answer police questions. Later, he claimed self-defense.
He had 56 past offenses. He was jailed in 2012 for hurting someone badly. His last theft conviction was in 2017. His lawyer, Jazmine Lee, spoke about the assault’s seriousness.
She said he admitted guilt before trial. She added, “He knows the consequences.” Harlington hid for six months. A warrant led to his arrest. He did not want to return to jail.
He appeared in court February 11 and was then kept in custody. He had drug and housing problems. Lee said, “Things took a downward spiral.” He is tackling his drug problem now while in jail. Lee stated he caused his own issues. She thinks he can live without crime.
Harlington was jailed for two years, four months. He was in Hull Prison.
