A Bradford man is jailed for stealing a car in Rotherham and assaulting a police officer during his arrest.

He stole keys for two cars. Dean then drove away in one car. Police tracked the stolen cars using the trackers inside them. When police showed up, Dean ran away. He kicked a police officer during his arrest. Forensic work later connected Dean to the theft.
Dean went to court in Sheffield on February 12. He admitted to burglary and to stealing cars. He also admitted to assaulting a police officer. The court sentenced him to prison for a total of three years and eight months.
A detective, Melissa Green, spoke about the case. Dean upset a family by breaking into their house and stealing their vehicles. The family and police communicated well to track the car’s location. Both cars were found soon after.
Forensic evidence tied Dean to the crime scene, which helped get him into court. Burglary can really upset people, as it invades their private space. Green is happy the responsible person is in jail.
