George Gale, 27, gets 14 years for aggravated burglary. He threatened a woman and her pets in Kington Langley.

Gale, age 27, broke into her home on August 12, 2024. It was around 10:30 PM when he forced the front door. He knocked the woman to the floor as he entered. He then held a knife to the woman.
She is in her 70s. Gale demanded money and jewelry from her. He kept saying he’d kill her pets and her if she contacted the police.
Gale admitted guilt to aggravated burglary in November. He was sentenced February 17. The sentence occurred at Swindon Crown Court. He must serve at least nine years. The court also issued a restraining order.
Gale cannot contact the victim or enter Kington Langley. The judge called Gale a significant risk, particularly to older women. Gale saw the victim as “easy prey.” He used her love for dogs.
A police officer thanked the victim for her bravery. Gale scared her that night in August, and she didn’t want to call police. A friend told police about it. Then she revealed what happened. Gale forced her upstairs, and she feared a sexual assault.
He demanded jewelry and money. He stole gold chains, which police never found. Burglary hurts communities and distresses victims.
Police are happy Gale is in jail, and the victim can now find closure. The sentence shows how serious these crimes are, and such offenses will not be tolerated.
