A man was hospitalized after falling in woods near Ebchester Bridge, County Durham. Mountain rescue teams assisted in his recovery.

Mountain rescue teams arrived at 12:55 p.m. They needed to find and help the injured man, who hurt his ankle in the fall. The rescue teams found him in the woods by the River Derwent.
They put him on a stretcher and carried him down the hill. The ambulance service got the call around 12 p.m. about an injured person near Ebchester Bridge.
Paramedics helped him at the scene and took him to a Durham hospital. Teesdale and Weardale Mountain Rescue asked for help. North of Tyne and Northumberland teams joined to help get him to safety.
The team was called to aid the ambulance service. They looked for a man hurt near Ebchester who had an ankle injury. His location was in another team’s area.
All teams worked together and carried him to the ambulance. The ground was rough. The injured man was near the river, about one kilometer from the road.
They used a stretcher with a mattress and carried him carefully through the woods. They crossed a field to reach the ambulance.
