A man is hospitalized with a serious head injury after a road rage incident in Basildon. Police seek witnesses.

Police got a call about an assault on Whitmore Way right before 5:30 PM recently. The injured man is in his 30s. Thankfully, his injuries aren’t life-threatening.
Police said the man argued with another driver before the assault. The victim is white and about six feet tall with a slim build and short brown hair. He wore a football shirt and light blue jacket.
He was with a woman, also white, around 5’3″ tall. She’s in her early 30s with long dark hair and wore a tracksuit. Their car is allegedly a black Ford Focus, damaged on one side.
A police chief wants to reassure everyone that they are trying to figure out exactly what occurred. You might see officers around the area, and they want you to share concerns or information.

An ambulance spokesperson shared that they got a call at 5:32 PM about an assault and sent an ambulance right away. They then took a man to the hospital.
