A drug dealer seemed anxious when police stopped him. Officers then found cocaine worth £1,000 on him. He claimed someone forced him to deal drugs. Threats were made against him and his family.

Shabger Hajro, 23, drove in Cardiff on November 30. Police thought his driving was suspicious, leading them to stop his car. He seemed nervous and tried using his phone.

Police searched him and discovered bags of cocaine and cash. He had them in his wallet, a vape, and a sock. The drugs were for street sales, with a value between £700 and £1,000.

Hajro first lied to the police after his arrest, saying the cocaine was for him. Later, he admitted he planned to sell drugs because he owed an Albanian man money. He couldn’t find work to pay him back.

The prosecutor, Nigel Fryer, spoke about the threats. Hajro said the man threatened him, and his family in Albania also faced violence. To pay the debt, he sold drugs and received a car and housing in Wales. He had no prior criminal record.

Judge Vanessa Francis commented on the case, stating that drug dealers exploit people’s weaknesses. They target young, immature people and she believed both issues applied in this instance.

Hajro received a 24-month prison sentence. He will probably be deported after his sentence.
