Toby Hamilton was caught on camera dumping waste in Dyfi Forest. He was fined £2,270 after admitting the crime.

The truck’s license plate identified Hamilton. A court ordered him to pay £2,270. Natural Resources Wales prosecuted this case. Fly Tipping Wales investigated the dumping. This initiative received Welsh Government funding.
The dumping occurred near Pantperthog, in southern Gwynedd. Dyfi Forest has walking trails. People also enjoy bike trails there. Initially, Hamilton denied dumping anything. Cops questioned him about the incidents.
He claimed he hunted rabbits there. He was only in the forest briefly each time. Later, Hamilton admitted dumping waste illegally. He appeared in court in Aberystwyth. The hearing took place on February 4, 2025.
The court fined him £600 for waste disposal. This was reduced to £400. He pleaded guilty very early in the process. A further £225 fine became £150. This charge was for a byelaw offence.
He had to pay another £220 as a surcharge. The court also ordered him to pay £1,500. This covered costs of the prosecution. The total fine came to £2,270.
