A driver got very angry after a breakup. His ex was on the sidewalk, and he drove his car right at her aggressively. Liam Woods, the driver, used to sell drugs. He drove away, then turned around quickly, speeding towards her on the wrong side. Earlier, he argued with her new boyfriend in Hull, a court heard.

Woods, age 34, admitted careless driving on July 16, 2023, but denied dangerous driving. The court accepted his plea for the lesser charge. The prosecutor explained the couple dated for five years, and their breakup was nasty. She started dating someone else afterward.

They were all on a street in Hull around 4 pm. Woods and the new boyfriend had a fight, after which Woods got in his car and drove away. Soon after, he turned around and came back fast, driving straight for his ex as she stood on the sidewalk. He drove quickly on the wrong side.

Woods’ car then hit the other man’s vehicle as Woods drove away. Woods was previously convicted of driving offenses, including driving without a license or insurance. He also went to jail for drug dealing, possessing cocaine in 2020 and 2022.

His lawyer said Woods had no prior driving convictions, adding, “He currently doesn’t have a license.” Woods relied on government benefits. The judge said the dangerous driving lasted briefly, but pedestrians were nearby, making it worse. The court accepted careless driving only, stating, “You offered to admit guilt to this charge earlier.”

Woods had to pay a fine of £200 plus £85 in costs and received six points on his driving license. Last year, the court learned Woods hid cocaine in a book-safe, which police found at his home. He styled himself as a very active dealer.

In another case, police followed Woods on his motorcycle. He used a Fanta can to hide cocaine. Police went to a Hull house with a warrant and saw Woods leaving and getting into a car. They told him to stop, but he ran.

He tried to get into the vehicle, and police detained him. He threw something from his jacket, admitting, “The coke is mine.” Police found bags of cocaine totaling 4.63g, along with £296 in cash and several phones. His home contained phones, scales, and £1,250.

Drug messages on a phone read, “Can you do me one for £20?” Another message from him said “active,” showing he was ready to sell drugs. A book-safe held cocaine weighing 13.2g, and the drugs taken were worth £1,750 total. Woods was already on bail when the second incident happened. Police saw his motorcycle and stopped him. Inside a cup holder was a Fanta can containing 12 wraps of cocaine.
