A man in his 40s found dead in Cornwall Council homeless cabin after concern for welfare call in Truro. No foul play suspected.

The man was in his 40s, and he was found dead at the scene. This site houses Cornwall Council’s homeless pods, located behind the main building. Officials have notified his family, and a coroner will receive a report.
The emergency site, consisting of twenty-one units, finished in 2022. Urgent cases stay short-term, while others stay medium-term.
Cornwall has similar sites in Camborne and Penzance. New plans are in place to serve vulnerable youth, which involve new pods near Waitrose in Truro. The council also allowed a man to live in his double-decker bus on the premises.
Police received a call around 12:20 pm on Tuesday, February 11, concerning a man’s welfare on Treyew Road. Sadly, the man died there; he was in his 40s.
Foul play is not suspected, and his family has been informed. The coroner will receive detailed information about the incident. Police will inform the IOPC because they had previously dealt with him, and this referral is required by protocol.
