A man tragically died after being pulled from the sea near Penarth Pier. Emergency services responded to the incident.

Many emergency teams arrived quickly, including South Wales Police, the RNLI, and the coastguard. Ambulances and a helicopter also came to the scene. Swimmers used buoys to help the man in the water.
Rescuers pulled the man from the water and ambulance workers then took care of him. Sadly, he passed away later.
Police say they arrived around 4:30 PM and have notified the man’s family. They also stated they do not suspect any crime happened.
The RNLI Penarth lifeboat launched fast and got to the person quickly. Three swimmers with buoys were already helping him, supporting him in the water.
The Coastguard helped organize the rescue with a helicopter and other teams, including paramedics and police. The air ambulance also responded before the ambulance service took over.
The RNLI thanked everyone, including the public for calling 999 quickly and the three skilled swimmers whose help aided the rescue effort.
