A man faces charges after a police dog, Zeus, was injured during a knife incident in Aberdeen. He will appear in court soon.

Officers went to the scene, and a police dog handler went too. The police dog, Zeus, got hurt. Zeus is a six-year-old Belgian Malinois, and he received treatment at a vet.
A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to the hospital for his own injuries. Then, police took him into custody and he faces charges, including animal welfare issues.
The man will appear in court soon; his court date is Monday, March 3, 2025. Police found a knife at the location, near Seaforth Road and Park Road.
The road closed for investigation but reopened by 1:15 pm on Saturday, March 1. Police think this was a one-time thing, and they believe the public is not at risk.
Superintendent Ross Kelly spoke about the incident, confirming that no officers were hurt. He hopes Zeus gets better quickly because police value their dogs very much and will not accept attacks on them.
