A man assaulted three officers when they stopped him from using his toilet. He received a conditional discharge.

The police questioned Joseph in his kitchen. Joseph pushed past a policewoman and splashed water from the sink at her. He said he needed the toilet then. The officers told him to stay put.
Joseph shoved an officer who blocked him. Joseph yelled bad words at the police and tried to grab the officer’s glasses too. A prosecutor talked about the case in court.
The defendant stayed angry and fought back. A third officer came to help control Joseph. Joseph then pushed that officer on the chest. Police got him on the floor and used handcuffs.
Joseph’s lawyer shared that he lives with his mom. She stated that he has anxiety and dyslexia. He doesn’t work because of these issues, and he argued with his brother before police came. He was drinking and doesn’t recall everything.
He said he really needed the toilet then and worried he would have an accident. They did not allow him to go initially. Since then, he drinks less often and took a victim awareness class too.
He can’t get benefits because he’s been sanctioned by the DWP, his lawyer added. She asked for a conditional discharge. The court agreed but added compensation.
Joseph admitted to assaulting the officers. He got a conditional discharge for twelve months and must pay each officer £50. He shoved three officers in total.
