A 23 year old man was arrested in Belfast, linked to the Quham Babatunde’s Dublin stabbing death. He was caught boarding a ferry.

This arrest relates to a stabbing that occurred in Dublin. The victim’s name was Quham Babatunde. He died after the stabbing, and the police charged the man.
The arrest happened on February 16th. Garda Síochána announced the charges on February 20th.
The man goes to court soon; the court date is February 21st. He’s not the only one charged; two others face charges too.
Babatunde was thirty-four years old. He was seeking asylum from Nigeria and lived in a Dublin IPAS center.
The violence happened near Grafton Street. It started around 3am last Saturday, following a music event.
Police found Babatunde unresponsive. Medics took him to a hospital, but he later died there. Another man got hurt too.
The police are investigating the incident. They reviewed CCTV footage and made door-to-door inquiries.
The IPAS centre offered support for residents and staff affected. They sent condolences to his friends.
Jeffrey Bangu faces charges including violent disorder and assault with a knife. The charges also relate to the other injured man.
Rory Carr is also charged with violent disorder and assault causing harm. Both men remain in custody.
The Justice Minister, Jim O’Callaghan, called the violence disgusting. He wants those involved brought to justice. He saw footage of the incident and called it shocking, stating such violence is unacceptable.
