Qadeer Hussain confessed to causing the death of nine year old Alice Williams in a Halifax crash last July.

Qadeer Hussain, age 55, confessed in court. The court date was Friday, February 28. Alice’s family sat in the jury box.
Hussain drove a Vauxhall Corsa in Halifax. He hit Alice on July 8 on King Cross Street. She was at a pedestrian crossing, and an ambulance took Alice to the hospital. Sadly, she died soon after.
Alice’s parents showed photos of her in court. The judge said Hussain will go to prison, and the hearing lasted only 20 minutes.
Hussain had no prior criminal record. The judge allowed him bail until May 2. She also banned him from driving temporarily. A report will assess him before sentencing.
Hussain’s lawyer said he understands his fate. His actions caused the awful tragedy, and he knows prison is unavoidable.
Alice’s family described her as bright and loving. She brought joy to everyone’s lives. Her headteacher called her gentle and kind, and the headteacher also said she was always smiling.
