A man is in court accused of attempted murder after officers were injured outside a police station in south Wales.

Alexander Dighton was in court Friday and faces seven charges, including attempted murder and assault of an emergency worker. Dighton is from Llantrisant, in Rhondda Cynon Taf. He represented himself.
The incident occurred around 7pm on January 31. Police spoke to a man near Talbot Green police station, located in Rhondda Cynon Taf, regarding a disturbance. Two officers needed hospital care and were later discharged.
Dighton had a long beard and wore a grey jumper. He doesn’t want a lawyer, as he thinks the profession lacks respect.
He rejected legal help outright. When the judge asked about reconsidering and Dighton wanted to make a plea, Mrs. Justice Cheema-Grubb refused. His next court date is March 28 for a trial preparation hearing, and he remains in custody until then.
