A major Scottish road is closed due to a lorry fire. Drivers now face an alternative route near Aviemore.

The lorry fire began around 4:40 AM on Thursday. You can still drive through Aviemore, which is the alternative route available.
Police Scotland said the A9 is shut due to the lorry fire reported around 4:40 AM on Thursday, February 13th. Nobody got hurt. Drivers should use the Aviemore diversion, and police appreciate everyone’s patience.
Sadly, someone died in a crash on the A90 near Laurencekirk in Aberdeenshire. The victim was 62 years old.
He rode in a silver Mercedes Vito van that crashed with a Mercedes HGV around 10:20 AM on Wednesday, February 12th.
The 43-year-old van driver went to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and the 52-year-old lorry driver went to Ninewells Hospital; they both needed treatment. The road closed for about 12 hours for investigation.
