Revenue officers seized €765,000 worth of drugs and contraband in Dublin, Midlands, Rosslare, and the South-East.

They used risk analysis to find stuff, and intelligence helped a lot too. They found 32.4kg of cannabis, with a value of almost €650,000. Other illicit drugs were also found, worth over €48,000, along with 1,516 illicit tablets, worth nearly €2,400!
Officers also seized 600 cigarettes and almost 12kg of tobacco. These items are worth over €11,000, and the country lost about €8,435 in taxes. Plus, 166 fake items got seized, with a value of over €53,600!
The cannabis and related drugs came from parcels, and some dogs helped find them. The dogs’ names are Ciara, Sam, Grace, and Enzo. Officers checked parcels in Dublin and the Midlands.
The parcels came from many places, including the Czech Republic and France. They also came from Poland and the Netherlands, as well as the United Kingdom, Thailand, Spain, and India. The parcels were for places like Austria and France, also Croatia, Romania, and everywhere in Ireland. The fake goods broke Intellectual Property rights.
Besides the drugs, they found almost 91 litres of alcohol, worth over €2,600. The government could have lost €1,250. This alcohol was found in Rosslare and the Midlands, and nine weapons were also found in the Midlands.
A Revenue person said they are investigating. These seizures fight smuggling and shadow economies.
