Engineers in Maidstone found cannabis plants valued at £300,000 while responding to a reported gas leak.

Someone reported a gas leak. This report caused the police to check it out. Engineers found the plants during repairs. Police found tents with cannabis inside, along with heating and ventilation equipment.
The plants were worth about £300,000. They seized the plants to destroy them. Two men left before the police arrived; they headed towards Maidstone East station.
The men possibly got into a silver Mercedes. This was on Buckland Hill near St Peter’s Street. Police started investigating to find those responsible.
