Two hospitalized, including a child, after a multi vehicle accident on the M65. Road closed for hours; two arrested.

The crash involved a Mercedes and an Audi. It occurred westbound near junction 12 around 8:15 PM on February 26. Then, a Ford Fusion hit the Mercedes.
The Mercedes driver, in his 20s, got seriously hurt. A young boy was in the same car, but thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening. Both were taken to the hospital for care. No one else suffered injuries.
Pictures show recovery crews at the scene along with fire engines and a police car. The road stayed closed.
The M65 westbound closed for over 12 hours while police investigated the accident. Two men from Nelson, aged 20 and 26, were arrested. They may have caused serious injury by dangerous driving.
Police are seeking information about the crash. They want to speak to witnesses and are asking anyone with dashcam footage to call 101 and use log 1231 from February 26, or email SCIU@lancashire.police.uk.
