Hey, so there was a big crash on the M62. It happened near Heywood, at junction 19, last night. The crash involved one vehicle, it seems.

Emergency services rushed there around 11:45 PM Sunday. Police, paramedics, and firefighters all helped out at the scene. A vehicle even caught fire after this collision.

The M62 westbound closed between junctions 19 and 20. This happened early this morning, and the motorway is still shut at junction 19. Traffic now exits and re-enters at junction 19 as crash investigators are actively working there.

Westbound traffic on the M62 is backed up to Rishworth, past junction 22. Expect delays if you are driving.

There are M62 eastbound and M60 clockwise delays, too. These affect areas near the crash site, causing problems both ways.

The police are investigating a serious collision. A vehicle caught fire, causing more issues. Assessments are ongoing as investigators must check the road and bridge for damage before they can reopen it. Expect delays.

Ten miles of congestion cause 90-minute delays, which is longer than normal. You might want to change plans.

A-roads around Manchester also have delays as drivers are avoiding the M62. The A672, A663, and A62 are experiencing queues.

We don’t have more details about the crash yet, but police are working on getting that information.
