M6 road work starts between Lancaster and Kendal. £4 million project includes lane closures and a 50 mph speed limit.

The project started Monday, February 24, and lasts four months. During that time, they will fix drains, clear blockages, and improve the roadside.
This will help water drain better. They will also fix the safety barrier, keeping cars safe and reducing future road work.
The road will stay open, but workers will close lanes during the day and night. They don’t think it will cause delays.
The work has three parts. The first part closes lanes at night between junctions 34 and 35, running from February 24 to March 29.
Part two needs lane closures from March 31 to May 28, both day and night. Specific times vary weekly.
The final phase shuts lane one near junctions 35 and 34, running from April 28 to July 2. A 50mph speed limit will be in place for a short area only; most times, the speed limit will be 70mph. Work stops for Easter to help travelers.
