A pedestrian in his 50s died after a multi vehicle crash on the M5, leading to hours of closure and traffic disruption.

The accident involved a pedestrian, a lorry, and a car. It shut down the M5 in both directions near Bridgwater and Taunton. The road finally reopened later that evening.
The crash caused major traffic jams, forcing traffic to find other routes. The police and emergency services responded and needed time to investigate the scene correctly.
Police reported the incident occurred around 2:45 PM on the southbound side of the M5 between junctions 24 and 25.
Sadly, the man died at the location. Police are thinking of his family and offering assistance during this tough time.
Both sides of the M5 closed for investigation. The northbound side reopened around 6:15 PM, while the southbound side opened later that night.
