Roads will close for maintenance down in south Wales. You should know about closures on the M4 and A470. These closures impact areas near Newport and Swansea. Roadwork also affects the A470 near Abercynon.

The M4 westbound is closed from J25 to J26 for tunnel and road work. This happens February 12, 8 PM to February 13, 6 AM, with diversions in place. Expect the M4 eastbound, J26 to J25A, to close February 13, 8 PM to February 14, 6 AM, for the same reason. There will be diversions here too.

The M4 westbound entry slip at J45 closes due to road work. Find diversions from February 11, 8 PM, to February 12, 6 AM. Plan ahead.

The A470 northbound will be closed from Abercynon to Pentrebach for roadwork every night, 8 PM to 6 AM, until February 17. No work happens Saturday or Sunday.

Expect another A470 closure northbound, affecting Abercynon to Merthyr Tydfil. Resurfacing closes the road nightly 8 PM to 6 AM, until February 15, with diversions in place.

The A470 southbound closes as well from Abercynon to Bridge Street. This closure is February 10, 8 PM to February 11, 6 PM for road maintenance, and diversions are in place.

The Abercynon Roundabout on the A470 has temporary traffic lights. Expect them 8 PM to 6 AM until June 13 due to roadwork; delays are possible.
