Lunko bakery in Aigburth closes February 24 for two weeks. Owners plan shop improvements and new equipment.

The owners are Adelina Blanaru and Marius Dogaru. They once planned a second shop in the Baltic area due to high demand. TikTok made the bakery quite popular.
The Baltic shop plan failed due to reasons outside their control. They apologized for the change of plans and still appreciate everyone’s support.
They will focus on the Aigburth shop. The owners want to improve it, and the closure will allow improvements. This includes better workflow and on-site baking.
The shop’s design will change completely, and they bought new kitchen equipment. A temporary location may open nearby. Their Speke bakery will focus on bread uniquely for Lunko.
The shop called it “an end of an era,” and they’ll remove a meme painting. The painting referenced “dropped my croissant”.
The couple is from Romania originally. They moved to Kirkby in 2015. Marius trained as a pastry chef in Paris. Staff made sacrifices to serve customers.
Adelina mentioned Lunko’s success. It did not happen without hard work. Liverpool feels like their true home; the city helped them grow personally.
