Investigation continues into the death of Lucy Harrison, 23, in Texas. Authorities suspect criminal negligence.

Lucy was shot in the chest on January 10th, and died later that day. An inquest started in Warrington on February 12th. The inquest confirmed she died from a gunshot wound in the US.
Many people shared tributes to Lucy. Her mother and boyfriend spoke fondly of her. They said she loved life and described her huge capacity to love.
An autopsy confirmed the gunshot, showing someone else fired the shot. Lucy had no drugs or alcohol in her system. She died at Baylor Scott and White Medical Centre.
Lucy’s father, Kris Harrison, lived in Texas and reportedly has links to Southport. Police released a report about the case, confirming the investigation of negligent homicide.
Six witnesses were present, including two juveniles. Six officers went to the scene of the shooting, which occurred around 2:40 pm. The police report lists “negligent manslaughter” and also mentions “manslaughter” as possible charges.
Lucy’s mother and boyfriend shared a tribute, stating Lucy lived fearlessly and embraced life fully. She loved deeply and openly. She loved traveling and new cultures, but also loved being home. She enjoyed her pajamas and candles, and was described as dramatic, yet direct. She was truly thriving, and her loved ones feel heartbroken.
Lucy worked for Boohoo, a fashion company, which is supporting her family and colleagues. Her funeral is on February 24th at St Elphin’s Parish Church. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to Peace and Mind UK, a charity in Warrington started by Brianna Ghey’s mother.
