Okay, so here’s what happened with that soccer player. Lucas Akins used to play for Huddersfield Town. He admitted he caused a cyclist’s death.

Akins, who is 36, lives in Thongsbridge. He hit Adrian Daniel, 33, with his Mercedes G Wagon on March 17, 2022, on Huddersfield Road in Netherton. Daniel got rushed to the hospital with really bad injuries.

Sadly, he died ten days after the accident. Akins went to court recently and pleaded guilty to a charge of causing death by careless driving.

The court heard Akins had no prior record. The prosecutor said the plea was okay and they told Daniel’s family about it. It seems everyone is aware of the situation.

The judge told Akins he’s banned from driving and can’t get a license right now. He’s not allowed on public roads. The judge released Akins on bail, but the case got delayed so reports can be written.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 24 this year. It’s really sad news about Adrian Daniel. He was only 33 years old.
