Longton Bus Station gets a makeover with new lights, CCTV, and design changes to deter vandalism and improve public safety.

The station faced problems like vandalism. It’s part of the Safer Streets project. They made the canopy smaller. This helps people see better and it should also reduce bad behavior.
Last year, the station had lots of vandalism. One person broke windows many times. It cost over £10,000 to repair. The city council and police worked together.
The project got money from the government. It received £46,409 for Safer Streets 5. Local leaders knew about the problems there and they included issues like vandalism.
Real-time information boards are coming soon. The council will put them up later this year. They will show when buses arrive.
Allison Gardner is happy about the changes. The station looks better now and it should be a safer place. Security will ride buses which improves bus safety across the city.
