A new list shows the proposed council tax hikes across all London boroughs for 2025/26, with Wandsworth aiming for the lowest rate.

Wandsworth may still have the lowest tax in London. The council wants to freeze its part of the tax bill, which pays for general services in the borough. The average Band D home would pay £990 in 2025/26.
Wandsworth’s total council tax could rise by 2% this April, covering the costs of care for adults. This is less than the max 4.99% allowed without a vote. Band D homes could see a £29 increase, reaching £990, including London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s share too.
His part may go up by £19 to help fund police, fire, and transport. The council claims Wandsworth’s tax will be the UK’s lowest. They have frozen their core share for three years now.
Wandsworth’s Band D bill is much lower than nearby Kingston’s, which may be £2,489 in 2025/26, nearly £1,500 more. Here are the proposed council tax increases for London: Barking & Dagenham: 4.99%.
