A pub in Llanbedrog had a bad fire. It’s the Glyn Y Weddw Arms, and the fire happened early Friday morning. It started just before 1 AM.

Firefighters rushed to the scene from Pwllheli, Nefyn, and Caernarfon. The A499 road was closed, but thankfully, nobody got hurt.

The pub suffered serious damage. Pictures show damage to the roof, the front, and the inside. The pub will stay closed for now.

Robinson’s Brewery owns the Glyn Y Weddw Arms. They posted about the fire on Facebook, and customers were very upset because they love the pub a lot.

Locals expressed their sadness for the pub. One person has visited since they were a baby and hopes the pub reopens soon. The community feels its loss.

The ‘All About Llanbedrog’ Facebook page shared photos and sent sympathy to the staff. The fire caused a lot of damage, but Elwyn was safe.

The fire alarms woke him up, and he then called the fire brigade. People hope Robinsons repairs everything so they can get the pub back in the village, known for its Sunday Carvery.

Fire crews arrived at 12:55 AM, and an aerial ladder team also helped. Two senior officers went to the scene too. Crews left around 6:27 AM, five and a half hours later.

Fire investigators will check out the cause to figure out how it started. The fire service will provide more details later.
