A major collision involving a police car has shut down a busy Liverpool road. One man is seriously injured.

A man went to the hospital after the crash. His Ford C-Max Zetec hit a police car. The police car, a Skoda Kodiaq, was going to an emergency. It had its lights and siren on.
The Ford driver is in serious, but stable, condition. The police driver was checked; he was okay. A police dog in the car was also fine, and a vet checked on the dog.
The ambulance service got a call at 9:09 AM. They sent a response vehicle and two ambulances. An air ambulance also went there.
One person at the scene described a big crash and saw many police arrive. Then, the helicopter landed. Another person saw flashing lights on the black Skoda in the road’s center with a grey Ford.
The road is still closed for investigation, and traffic is backing up from Brunswick Way to Parliament Street. Police ask anyone who saw the crash to contact them and want to speak to people with dashcam footage.
