DJ Billie Clements’s nightly street performances reignited one resident’s appreciation for Liverpool.

I’ve been to many big music events before, and I’ve danced until my feet hurt, actually. Seeing Billie play on Church Street hit different. Music really matters.
Billie Clements, a Liverpool DJ, plays daily. At 6:30 PM, she starts a set and streams it to 42,000 TikTok fans. I decided to join her this week.
Billie DJ’d in top clubs globally. In November 2024, she came back to Liverpool. She began in PR at 16, and also at 16, she DJ’d her first gig at Club 051. Later, she relocated to Ibiza at 18.
She loves performing since she was a kid; Billie even acted in Brookside back then. She loved house music, so DJing was ideal. Now, her career is “full circle,” and she is back playing on Liverpool’s streets.
Billie is 35 and from Old Swan. She sets up her DJ gear downtown. Usually, she’s on Church Street, and every night, she goes live for two hours. She saw someone do it in London, an idea that inspired her, so she decided to do it in Liverpool.
Billie began her livestream, and about 500 followers tuned in, like always, to watch her set. Within ten minutes near NatWest Bank, people gathered and became interested in her music.
Lots of people came to listen. Kids and adults all enjoyed it and danced together. Some waited to be on the stream. One man, Pulse MC, came from Blackburn because he wanted to be on Billie’s TikTok.
Her music’s impact hit me hard. Homeless people come to listen, and they say it cheers them up and gives them something to do. It makes Billie happy she can help and meets many great people.
People dance, making her happy, too, and she spreads positivity. Every night, people watch her lives. Young and old watch from everywhere; they dance and laugh, and it doesn’t matter what language they speak. It is good for the community.
Someone emailed her and said it helped them through cancer. Knowing she helps brings her joy.
Seeing people dancing made me think. Music is really important, and I appreciate it even more. I really love this city, and Billie dedicates her time to put on a show for Liverpool every night. That is amazing.
