New rules aim to stop nuisance student parking near a Lincoln school. Restrictions are set for weekdays.

Lincolnshire council approved new rules. They aim to halt nuisance parking near the school. The decision happened Monday, February 10.
Waiting is now banned anytime on Cross O’Cliff Hill, near the top school entrance. This applies to both sides of the road. Restrictions exist weekdays, 8 AM to 6 PM, further up the road and on Cross O’Cliff Close.
Councillor Kevin Clarke wanted quick action. He witnessed the parking issues himself. His ward has five schools, he explained to the committee. Four schools have major parking problems, he added.
Residents face churned verges, and blocked paths. Students abandon cars, not just park, Clarke noted. This forces people to walk on the road. The Hill and Close junction poses dangers, as cars block views, requiring risky maneuvers.
A council report mentioned HGV issues. On-street parking causes problems for trucks. The Priory Academy Trust runs LSST. They have been asked to comment on the situation.
