A 59-bed care home on Cabourne Avenue in Lincoln is likely to be approved, addressing growing elderly care needs.

The home sits near the Lindum and Minster Medical Practice. The Glenholme Health Group proposed this project, saying it will help local medical services. They also plan constant, round-the-clock care.
Documents point out the aging population, noting the need for elderly care is growing fast. This location suits the project very well, as it is near community places and Lincoln’s center. They claim a new home will ease pressure for the council and help the NHS with housing needs. The care home will get registered with the CQC.
The plans include dining and lounging areas for everyone. Patios outside and places for fun are planned so people can enjoy recreational activities. They will make the medical practice’s car park bigger and give £21,000 to help with extra demand, which covers any increases in patients.
However, people living near the site did not respond positively. They want only two stories, not three, since the location is near Cathedral View Court. Some worry the doctor’s office is already too busy, thinking this will make it even worse for everyone and that they do not like this proposition.
The council says the plan is “carefully considered” and the technical details are “well developed,” stating they deal with issues thoroughly. Approval is likely on Wednesday, February 26, with construction needing to start within three years as a condition of the approval.
