Brent plans 200 Lime bike bays across 43 North London locations to combat parking issues and sidewalk obstructions.

They’ll be spread across 43 locations. People complained Lime bikes were left everywhere, causing problems by blocking sidewalks. Brent considered banning Lime last year.
Lime and Brent made a new deal where Lime will invest in parking spots. The council suggested 43 spots near Kilburn first, with each spot holding about eight bikes. They’ll ask about other areas later.
Brent said bikes left all over blocked paths. Lime has been in Brent since 2019. Brent told them to add parking spots by October 31 and create 200 bays, which kept them from being banned. Lime also cut bikes from 750 to 500.
The first survey lasts until February 16 and includes 43 roads. They want feedback on spots like Wrentham Avenue, Wembley Park Drive, and Waxlow Road. Tokyngton Avenue and The Avenue are also on the list.
More roads include Strode Road, Station Terrace, Station Approach, and St Paul’s Avenue. South Way, Park Lane, Rucklidge Avenue and Oxgate Lane are also included. Many more roads hope to gain parking.
A council leader is happy Lime made changes. He said residents were tired of bad parking and want mandatory bays across the borough. He asked residents to share input, saying it can shape the final decisions.
Lime plans to spend £20 million in London to address abandoned e-bikes. Streets and sidewalks were blocked. They want more parking spaces and patrols to find and handle bad parking cases.
Some councils had issues installing bays. Kensington and Chelsea had issues with the process. Workers even painted a bay around a car and then gave the car a ticket.
One resident said it was a nightmare because cyclists woke them up at 2 AM. Someone even played guitar outside later. This lack of sleep made them sick.
