A major housing and commercial development gets the green light in Market Bosworth.

Miller Homes will construct the new neighborhood. It will also have 1.3 acres for businesses. They will build it across from the old Kyngs Golf Club. A hotel is planned there too. Two houses will be torn down for road access, and some business buildings will also be removed.
Some people were against the plans though, including George Denny, who owns the Kyngs Golf Club. Denny worried about a road issue, stating a junction might affect his golf club plans.
Denny thinks the access road could cause problems and said the plans seem to contradict earlier agreements. He thinks the council should protect previous plans.
But, Tim Hartley, from the council, offered reassurance. He said the road plans are okay because the county’s road experts checked things. Both projects can proceed.
The local town council liked the overall idea. Councillor John Wasteney said residents backed the development in a survey, adding that Market Bosworth needs houses that fit the town. He said this plan suits the rural style and has green space and trees.
Councillor Brian Sutton agreed it was good. Still, he thinks the town needs a bigger doctor’s office. The developer will give money, potentially about £104,000, for local doctor’s offices.
The council voted to approve the housing. The project includes different sized homes, consisting of 13 one-bedroom homes, 45 two-bedroom homes, 52 three-bedroom homes, and 25 four-bedroom homes.
