Major roads close near Loughborough for the Leicestershire Half Marathon. Expect delays this Sunday due to closures along route.

The route includes the A6 and Loughborough Road. Shepshed will also see runners along the course. Leicestershire County Council approved the road restrictions. The run is raising money for Rainbows Hospice. It starts and finishes at Charnwood College.
The race should happen from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. Closures may start earlier and end later. Keep that in mind Sunday morning.
Thorpe Hill in Loughborough will shut down completely. So will Althorpe Drive, from end to end. The roundabout at Knightthorpe Road will also close. Rupert Brooke Road is included; so are Thorpe Hill and Kenilworth Avenue.
Kenilworth Avenue in Loughborough is closing too. Also, Coe Avenue, for its whole length. Shepshed will see closures on Butthole Lane and Loughborough Road there.
Market Place in Shepshed closes partially, from Loughborough Road to Belton Street. Belton Street will shut down completely. Hallamford Road’s closure goes from Belton Street to Belton Lane.
Belton Lane is affected for its entire length. Carr Lane in Belton will also be closed. B5324 Rempstone Road closes from Carr Lane. B5324 Ashby Road is shut down in Long Whatton.
The closure continues in Hathern on Ashby Road. Then, it proceeds to Whatton Road in Hathern. A6 Derby Road closes partially from Whatton Road to Shepshed Road. Shepshed Road in Hathern also closes.
Hathern Road’s full length is impacted. This runs through Long Whatton, Diseworth, and Shepshed. Countrymans Way closes from Hathern Road to Blacksmith Avenue. Finally, Blacksmiths Avenue in Shepshed will be shut down.
