Blaby District Council had many objections. People hated the idea of 200 homes at Blaby Golf Range. This plan got 1,760 complaints. One project wanted 170 homes near Leicester Road; that got 701 objections.
Another plan for 185 homes got 612 complaints. A plan for 41 homes off Gillam Butts had 560 objections. Building 155 homes off Oak Road saw 366 complaints. Also, 154 homes south of Ratcliffe Drive had 292 objections.
One project with 134 homes got 180 complaints. A home for children had 119 objections. Building 46 homes near Sycamore Way had 104 complaints. Six houses on Chapel Lane got 86 objections.
Charnwood Borough Council also had disliked plans. Building 26 new homes off Hoby Road received 75 objections. Changing soft play to pizza place got 64.
Student housing on Browns Lane got 60 complaints. Extensions on Beaumanor Gardens received 54 objections. Sixty-five homes off Parklands Drive received 53 objections.
One hundred and twenty-one homes off Laburnum Way got 45 complaints. Eight homes behind Garendon Road received 42 objections. Seventy homes south of Farmers Way got 39 complaints. Extensions on Bradgate Road also got 39. A house to HMO change on Fairmount Drive got 38.
Harborough District Council also had controversial plans. Ninety lodges on Launde Road received 257 objections. Converting a house into three homes had 42. Twenty-four homes near Stretton Lane got 39 complaints. Crematorium at Scraptoft Farm got 35 objections.
Seventy homes near Firs Road received 30 complaints. One self-build home on Fleckney Road got 25. Two self-build homes near Manor Road got 17. Keeping a marquee on Uppingham Road got 16. A food store near Winkadale Close got 14 objections. Prison near Welland Avenue also got 14.
Hinckley and Bosworth faced objections too. One hundred homes near Shenton Lane got 211 complaints. Four hundred and seventy homes on Burroughs Road received 123. Four hundred and twenty-two homes on Bullfurlong Lane got 122.
Gypsy pitches near Newquay Close saw 85 objections. Seven homes on Main Street attracted 74 complaints. A golf facility on Station Road got 32 objections. Four hundred and fifteen homes near Normandy Way got 31. Four golf lodges on Station Road received 30 objections. Two golf lodges also got 29. Removing a condition on Drayton Lane got 19.
Leicester City Council also dealt with unpopular plans. Changing storage to a place of worship got 362 complaints. Student housing on Princess Road got 84. A pub to worship place change got 47 objections.
A house to children’s home change received 45. Another house to children’s home change saw 42. Using Evington Valley Road for events got 32. A care home near Gartree Road got 31 complaints. Cutting down a protected tree got 22 objections. Salon on Herongate Road got 20 complaints. A baby home change on Shanklin Drive got 17.
Leicestershire County Council handles its own projects. A quarry near Warren Farm got nine objections. Rothley children’s home got eight. Quarry work near Coventry Road got two, and a Ravenhurst school car park also got two.
Temporary access on A453 got one complaint. Removing a crossing on Airfield Road got one too. Kiosk at Sibson Sewage got zero complaints.
Accesses off Mill Lane also got zero. Desford Brickworks got zero too. Temporary A453 access also got zero.
Melton found some plans unpopular. One house on Asfordby Road got 79 objections. Replacing Stathern hall got 42. A house to institution change had 32 complaints.
A care home on Belvoir Road got 24. Paddock change at Holwell got 20 objections. Nine retirement homes on Hoby Road also got 20. Nine homes on Waltham Road got 19 complaints. One house near Church Lane had 19 also. Dog area on Branston Road had 16. Changes on Mill Lane got 13 objections.
North West Leicestershire also had objections. Employment space south of A453 got 130 complaints. Eighty homes near Grange Road got 33 objections.
Six lodges at Limby Hall Lane got 31. Solar farm on Ashby Road got 20 complaints. Lodges on Outwoods Lane also got 20 objections. Cutting an oak on Brooks Lane got 15 complaints. Converting a farm on Moor Lane got 13. Keeping horses on Top Street got 11 objections. Road work south of A50 got ten complaints. Holiday units on Willesley Wood got nine.
