Busy Leicester ring road will close for essential repairs to the Burleys Way Flyover, starting March 3.

Drivers can’t use that city center road during repairs. Workers plan to replace damaged safety barriers. These barriers sit on the flyover edge and keep cars from falling.
They will also clear out the drains, and little road repairs are happening too. Fresh road markings are also part of the plan. This costs about £24,000, and the council’s budget will cover that.
Overnight closures start on Monday, March 3. It could all last about five nights. Roads close from 8 PM to 6 AM each night. Night work should cause less trouble.
The City Council says a diversion will be marked. Follow signs via Burleys Way and St Matthews Way. This shows drivers where to go around the work.
A council person explained the closures, saying they must do essential repairs to Burleys Way Flyover. Five nights of work should reduce problems, and they want to affect the busy traffic less.
