Free Easter activities and meals for Leicester kids eligible for free school meals. Act fast, limited spaces!

April sessions include art, sports, and music. Forty groups citywide organize them. Kids get a free, healthy meal each day; meals are provided for the four-day sessions.
Teens, ages 14-16, have another option: an Active Leicester pass. This pass gives free access to leisure centers, and they also get four food vouchers to use.
Places are given out as people apply. Pick one four-day program per child, or alternately, choose one Active Leicester pass. The government funds this scheme, the Holiday Activities and Food programme. Apply before March 30, a Sunday. Spaces are indeed limited, so hurry.
Councillor Elaine Pantling spoke about it. She said it helps low-income families, providing support during school breaks when kids miss their free school meals.
Many activities occur citywide this Easter. Spaces fill up quickly, she cautioned; sign up early to secure a spot. These programs are quite liked, and kids enjoy the food and fun. Book promptly, so your child won’t miss out.
The Holiday Activities and Food program starts April 14. More information and registration details are on the city council website.
