Mobile speed cameras appeared in Leeds this week. Officials hope to lower road accidents. West Yorkshire Police’s unit provides these cameras. The West Yorkshire Safety Camera Partnership supports them. They install cameras in two kinds of areas: core sites and community concern spots.

Core sites have speeding issues where authorities think cameras can help. Community concern sites are different, having been identified by locals as problem areas. The cameras use lasers to measure vehicle speeds and operate in various weather conditions.

Additional 30 mph locations are Queenswood Drive and Dewsbury Road, as well as Harewood Road and Tong Road. Penistone Road is also a 30 mph zone. Several 40 mph sites exist, including Dewsbury Road and Easterly Road.

More 40 mph zones are Harrogate Road and Leeds Road. Methley and Stanningley Road also have them. Leeds Road in Pool is another 40 mph zone. Carr Road joins Abbey Road and Bradford Road. Some 50 mph sites are also present.
