Alex is 32 and had stayed silent until now. She told the Mirror why she spoke up, and wants to take control of her life. Alex feels harassed with nothing to hide and believes it’s time to talk. Her breaking point was a call from social services saying her home was unsafe, based on flimsy gossip. They later deemed it malicious.
Another call followed six days later, accusing her about her OnlyFans activities. Alex shared how the harassment affected her: she feared for her children’s safety and slept outside their rooms. She thinks she’s targeted for her job, which she began it during the pandemic’s financial hardship and it helped support her family.
Alex said she couldn’t believe the hate. People wanted to take her kids, and she considered suicide last November. She rarely left home because of mental health, all because of her sex work.
Multiple calls in November prompted a police complaint. She reported this harassment, but the source remains unknown. Alex thinks it could be acquaintances or online harassers. They could use untraceable phones to contact social services.
Alex feels like someone wants her dead, but her children are most important to her. She believes they attack her through her kids, and thinks this is how they will get to her. She says these people try to take her children, which hurts her deeply as a mother. This ordeal destroyed her mentally.
Alex said her youngest kids don’t know about OnlyFans. However, she spoke with her teenage daughter, and told her what’s going on and how upset she is. Her eldest daughter is appalled by the hate, and reassures Alex they are great parents. Her daughter asserts they have never made her unsafe, doesn’t feel ashamed, and is proud to be Alex’s daughter. She does not understand the hate. Alex moved her kids to a new school then, after the old school allegedly pulled them from class. Their school asked if “mammy” takes men home.
The new school’s head is very understanding. They know about the calls to social services, and her job does not change how they treat them. Alex firmly addressed the person behind this, and stated the police are now involved and are taking this issue seriously.
She asks them to stop, saying this wastes very important resources — social services and police time. Children who really need help and are abused have attention diverted from them by this. So please stop attacking her family, she urges, as what they are doing is disgusting. Other children need help, but her children are happy, healthy, and loved. She insists that anyone who knows them knows this.
She calls the actions a direct attack on her children, and questions the morality of those attacking. Alex said she would never do this to others, and making a malicious call is disgusting to her.
Alex thanked social services, and appreciated their support and understanding. They apologized with each call, noting it, and in-person visits weren’t necessary, thankfully. They have assured her OnlyFans is not their business, as long as her children have nothing to do with it. Obviously, they don’t see her content while filming. What she does is no one’s business, she believes, as sex work and children shouldn’t be linked. To a rational person, it isn’t normal at all.
Why connect children with sex work, she asks, when the two matters are separate? She shouldn’t even have to point that out when her kids have no connection with OnlyFans. It is crazy that she even needs to say that, but she wants to show how much people discriminate, and this discrimination targets sex workers.
