The LDA starts construction on 408 cost rental and social homes in Clongriffin, north Dublin, as part of a larger development plan.

This is part of a bigger Clongriffin Town plan, the biggest state housing project planned now. The project will create over 2,000 homes. New shops and services are also planned.
The first 408 homes are in two apartment buildings. The LDA bought the land back in December 2023. The area already had permission for these buildings, but the LDA got approval for updated plans. These new plans align with Dublin’s 2022-2028 plan.
Walls Construction will build the 408 apartments. They will be A-rated, with one to three bedrooms. The buildings will vary from three to seven floors. The first homes should be ready in early 2027. They will be cost rental and social homes.
The plan includes gardens and a roof terrace. There will be a 1,433 square meter park, a creche, and community spaces on the ground floors. A new street, Market Street, will be for pedestrians only, hosting markets and events.
These homes are cost rental and social and will be ready in early 2027. Dublin’s Lord Mayor stated this project helps north Dublin, an area that sat unused for years. The LDA saw Clongriffin’s potential, she said, and the affordable homes are needed because good transport links already exist.
Dublin City Council will work with the LDA to foster a thriving community. This benefits current and future residents.
