A major barn fire in Cornwall prompts road closures and warnings for residents to shut windows due to thick smoke.

Firefighters got called around 7:15 this morning. Forty-seven firefighters were needed to fight it. The fire service warned people about the A30; smoke was blowing across the road at Carland Cross.
They closed a road near the farm, too. A fifty-meter safety area got set up, and people living close by should shut windows and doors.
St Dennis Fire Station talked about it on Facebook. They said the fire was in Mitchell and asked people to stay away from there. They mentioned the smoke on the A30 again.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue got many calls about it. The calls started coming in around 7:17 AM, and they sent fire trucks from Newquay and St Dennis. An officer also went to help.
The situation needed more help. Eventually, six fire pump trucks were sent, along with three officers, two water carriers, and support vehicles. Firefighters came from many towns, and they used hoses to stop the fire.
Smoke went onto the nearby A30 road. Be careful near Carland Cross; the police and highway people know. A road near the farm is now closed, and they set up that 50-meter safety zone.
